The Canon-McMillan High School Girls Basketball team made history during the 2025-26 season, capturing the program's first-ever WPIAL Championship with a 50-38 victory over Norwin at the Petersen Events Center.

The Lady Macs continued their postseason success in the PIAA State Tournament, earning wins over Governor Mifflin (48-46) and Allderdice (49-37) before falling to Dallastown, 54-39, in the third round.

Canon-McMillan finished the season with an impressive 9-1 mark in Class 6A Section 2 play and 23-5 overall record!

Head Coach John Fontana, now entering his fourth season, guided the program to its historic championship and was recognized as the Class 6A Section 2 Coach of the Year for the second time in his tenure.

Looking ahead to the 2026-27 season, the Lady Macs aim to build on their success with two returning starters and several additional players who gained valuable varsity experience during last year's championship run.
MEET THE COACHES

COACH RACHEL BELHY
VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH
Coach Rachel Belhy is a graduate of Fort Cherry High School and played collegiate basketball at Washington & Jefferson College. She currently teaches at Canon-McMillan High School and brings her passion for education and athletics to the Lady Macs program.

COACH JOHN FONTANA
Head Coach John Fontana enters his fourth season leading the Canon-McMillan Girls Basketball program. A two-time Class 6A Section 2 Coach of the Year (2024, 2026), Fontana has transformed the Lady Macs into one of the top programs in the WPIAL. During the historic 2025-26 season, he guided Canon-McMillan to its first WPIAL Championship in school history, earning Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Girls Basketball Coach of the Year and Trib HSSN Class 6A Coach of the Year honors.

COACH WILL BURGESS
Coach Will Burgess is a graduate of Washington High School and has been a member of the Canon-McMillan Girls Basketball coaching staff since 2021. He has served as the program's JV Head Coach since 2022 while also contributing as an Assistant Varsity Coach. In addition to coaching, Coach Burgess is an educator in the Canon-McMillan School District and was recognized as a Superintendent Star for his dedication to students.

COACH CARLEE KILGUS
Coach Carlee Kilgus is a graduate of South Fayette High School. She went on to attend St. Vincent College, where she also played collegiate basketball. Coach Carlee joined the Canon McMillan Girls Basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2023. She currently is employed as a Surgical Neurophysiologist.
VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH

COACH BEKA BELHY
Coach Beka Belhy is a graduate of Fort Cherry High School and Washington & Jefferson College, where she was a 1,000-point scorer and finished among the program's all-time leading scorers. She joined the Canon-McMillan Girls Basketball coaching staff in 2023 and currently works as a Project Manager for LLI Engineering.

COACH STELLANIE LOUTSION
Coach Stellanie Loutsion is a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and Washington & Jefferson College, where she earned a degree in Education and enjoyed a standout basketball career as a 1,000-point scorer. She joined the Canon-McMillan Girls Basketball coaching staff in 2026.
